The Community Resource Unit (CRU) is part of the Staff Services Division and is responsible for all of the community outreach and public education programs sponsored by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Involvement

Our Unit is the face of the Sheriff’s Office to over 1.5 million citizens each year through:

 

  • Neighborhood and civic organizations
  • Public events
  • Speaking engagements
  • Youth-directed programs (Jr. Deputy Academy). 

Goals

Community Resource

It is our goal that we may bring together:

  • Law enforcement
  • Other government agencies
  • Businesses
  • Schools and communities
  • Reducing crime and fear
  • Improving the quality of life in Jackson County, Missouri
